Platform Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Platform Engineer in India.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud platforms, application support, and enterprise service management, ensuring the stability and performance of mission-critical systems used by global customers. You will be responsible for supporting and enhancing complex cloud and web-based environments while acting as a trusted technical expert for escalations and incident resolution. The position involves deep troubleshooting across application layers, infrastructure components, and integrations within enterprise platforms. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams to improve observability, automation, and support processes. The environment is fast-paced, customer-focused, and highly collaborative, requiring strong analytical thinking and technical depth. It is well-suited for an engineer who enjoys solving complex production issues and working across modern cloud and enterprise technologies.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide advanced (L3) technical support for users and administrators of enterprise platform services, ensuring timely resolution of complex incidents and escalations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across cloud and web application environments, including system, network, and application layers.
  • Support ITSM processes including incident, problem, change, configuration, asset, and knowledge management within enterprise service frameworks.
  • Analyze logs, debug system behavior, and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Work with monitoring tools such as SCOM, SolarWinds, and related systems to ensure platform health and performance visibility.
  • Support and troubleshoot integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, web services, authentication mechanisms, and enterprise connectivity protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve tools, automation, and support workflows for faster issue resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance CMDB accuracy and support configuration management practices.
  • Provide support for database-related issues and understand data structures and system interactions.
  • Act as a customer advocate, managing priorities, escalations, and communication with minimal supervision.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to improving team knowledge and best practices.
  • Maintain documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles to support operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical support, platform engineering, or application support roles.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and web application architectures and enterprise platform components.
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM frameworks and ITIL processes such as incident and problem management.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, FSM) is highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including log analysis, debugging, and root cause identification.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, SNMP, monitoring tools, and system observability practices.
  • Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, web services, and authentication methods such as SSO and LDAP.
  • Basic object-oriented programming skills (Java preferred) and familiarity with scripting or configuration changes.
  • Experience with database concepts and ability to support application-related data issues.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and operate effectively in high-pressure, customer-facing environments.
