Billing & Operations Analyst at Connexus Energy – Ramsey, Minnesota
About This Position
Connexus Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our Member Operations and Billing department as an analyst, working with the systems, processes, reporting and more. Work for this position can be performed both on-site at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303, and from your local home office, as duties require. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements, hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota.
Compensation: Anticipated hiring pay is $77,900.00 - $102,270.00. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 8% based on company performance.
In this position, you will:
Implement and maintain the customer information system according to appropriate guidelines and rate structures.
- Design, create, test, maintain, and update billing rates and update transactions.Develop, implement, and maintain billing processes and procedures.Serve as a technical resource to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, working cross-functionally with other internal departments and external vendors.Prepare, review and process monthly bills for residential and commercial accounts with the Supervisor.Act as a back-up to the Supervisor, ensuring both automated (AMI - Advanced Metering Infrastructure) and manual meter reading processes are scheduled, completed and appropriate audits are done.
Provide expertise in data mining, analysis, and process improvement tools.
- Lead or assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of process improvement projects.Develop and provide training on billing procedures.
Provide excellent service and maintain continuous communication with other business areas.
- Respond to internal and external member requests in a timely and professional manner.Review, analyze and adjust bills properly.Perform billing services for external clients.Provide daily leadership and training to the team in processes, issue resolution and system use.
Prepare financial reports and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Prepare and run pre-closing month-end billing jobs and tasks.Complete month-end reporting and processes, including running reports and monthly close-out and open processes. Prepare special billing reports.
Provide expertise and guidance in identifying and supporting IT-related projects for the department.
- Review and evaluate capabilities of existing systems and internal processes and recommend modifications to improve support or to meet changing needs.Act as Subject Matter Expert during system upgrades and enhancement projects. Work with business users and IT to identify and document recommendations for billing process development and improvements.Monitor changes in the business environment and their impact on billing functions and software systems.Work with IT in the analysis of changes in software issued by the vendor, determining the functional impact on business processes and existing systems.
Need to have:
- Associate’s level degreeThree years’ work experience in utility billing, rates or similar that deals with high volume billing transactionsTwo years’ experience using customer information systemsKnowledge of accounting principlesAble to perform both simple and complex mathematical calculationsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointKnowledge of utility billingStrong problem-solving skillsProven ability to extract data from various systemsProficient in business process analysis, mapping, and documentationAble to clearly communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writingTeam player and strong collaboratorExcellent attention to detail and accuracy
