POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Health Information Management Supervisor, the Health Information Specialist provides essential support to both the Health Information Management and Clinical teams. This role is responsible for processing specialty referrals, managing medical records, and assisting with electronic health record (EHR) documentation. The Health Information Specialist assures all activities are performed in compliance with HIPAA regulations and MFHC standards, contributing to accurate, timely, and secure health information practices. This is an in-person position based in Avon, Colorado.
Job Qualifications:
Education or Formal Training & Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
3. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures preferred.
4. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical templates preferred.
5. Understanding of basic medical transcription guidelines and practices preferred.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar, punction, and professional style.
Salary: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour, which includes $3.61 per hour geographic pay incentive based on location
