Our Company

We are Denver’s premier manufacturer of window covering products including shades, blinds, and draperies. We fabricate our products at our 30,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Arvada. Our customers are commercial general contractors and direct dealers. We install commercial projects such as office buildings, hotels, hospitals, and schools.

Job Overview

The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting functions and manage HR and payroll operations, playing a key role in maintaining the company’s financial and organizational health. This position requires a hands-on professional with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring experience in manufacturing and construction-related accounting, including job costing, inventory management, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Manage and oversee HR functions, including compliance, employee records, and benefits administration.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and best practices to support scalability and manage an efficient monthly close and reconciliation process.
  • Administer quarterly commission and bonus plan calculations.
  • Work with the CFO to prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow projections to guide decision-making.
  • Implement and maintain job costing and inventory accounting for accurate cost tracking.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax professionals, and external stakeholders.
  • Improve financial reporting systems, ERP/accounting software, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in capital planning, financing, and investment decisions as the company expands.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring a high-performance finance department.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting leadership role, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with E2 Job Boss, Asana, Hubspot, and Bill.com desired and advanced Excel skills required.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work in a fast-paced, growing business.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements.
  • Experience with banking, lending, and financial forecasting in a growing business environment.
  • Experience with HR compliance and payroll administration preferred.
