Order Coordinator

  • Position Summary
    • Under the supervision of the Central Scheduling Supervisor, the Order Coordinator is responsible for reconciling imaging orders and facilitating communication. Communicates with physician practices to ensure imaging orders are obtained and compliant. Ensures that order escalations from operations are resolved, in effort to enhance organizational effectiveness. Responsible for owning order reconciliation process to ensure all orders are present in EMR system. Practice phone etiquette and develop a relationship with various physician offices. Maintains open communications and is available to assist internal and external customers. Works closely with Physician Offices and Front-Line Clinical Managers to ensure scheduling process is offered in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Education
    • Associate's of Science - Preferred
  • Experience
    • 1-2 Years medical office terminology - Required
    • 1 Year radiologic terminology - Preferred
    • 1-2 Years demonstrated exceptional service in-person and over the phone; think critically and multi-task - Preferred
  • License & Certification
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Preferred
  • Core Job Functions
    • Works reconciliation report to ensure all scheduled imaging services have an existing order. Facilitates order reconciliation with physician practices.
    • Addresses order escalation process from radiology operations.
    • Reviews imaging order for clinical compliance and quality review. Manages existing ordering resource and workflow. Ensures all orders are present in EMR system.
    • Communicates timely with the appropriate department/staff all pertinent appointment information. Effectively provide patient's and physician office staff scheduling guidelines and protocols. Verify MD written orders via RtFa.
    • Demonstrates skill in dealing diplomatically with physicians, management, clinical staff, patients and the public under stressful conditions. Acts decisively and immediately while remaining calm and alert in crucial situations. Utilizes good judgment in answering questions of callers according to established policies.
