About This Position

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the day-to-day tasks and assists with activities to receive, stock, sort, rotate, pull, pick up, and deliver food and grocery products. Assists with facility maintenance and upkeep. Maintains administrative and clerical needs related to the warehouse and volunteers. This position requires completion of a DOT Physical Exam (to obtain an active DOT Medical Certificate) and successful completion of a drug screening.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks, tracking and reporting associated with receiving products into inventory and distributing products into the community.
  • Label all incoming products/inventory.
  • Properly store and rotate inventory using the first in first out (FIFO) method
  • Slot food for picking tickets.
  • Operate all power equipment, including forklift, hydraulic jack, baler, bio-digester, etc.
  • Ensure that all needed products are accessible for distribution and help maintain organization and identifiable storage of all products and inventory.
  • Help organize and set up workstations for volunteer projects.
  • Assign volunteer tasks and explain procedures.
  • Pull and label agency orders.
  • Deliver agency orders when required and track outgoing mobile pantry poundage.
  • When required, pick up food donations and log all incoming poundage on proper tracking logs.
  • Keep warehouse areas neat, orderly, and clean; assist with thorough monthly cleaning of warehouse and annex; follow pest control stipulations.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must provide general support services for food inventory/prep/distribution, nutrition education, advocacy, and volunteer programs.
  • Take in food drives and general community food donations and weigh/log poundage
  • Hunger Packing™ (SHUP™), Health and Wellness, Mobile Pantry, and Summer Feeding
  • Help maintain warehouse office calendar for deliveries, pick-ups, etc.
  • Proper obtaining, check-off completion, updating, tracking, and filing of picking tickets to ensure accuracy and ease of invoicing.
  • Assist with general maintenance and upkeep of company vehicles.
  • Help ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
  • Assist with general vendor/agency/retail relations when needed

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with barcoding and scanning (required).
  • Valid driver's license (must be able to operate box truck as needed)
  • DOT Physical Certification (to obtain an active DOT Medical Certificate)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR training and certification preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience in warehouse inventory operations.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills; proficiency with inventory software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, internet, and email.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team player and energetic.
