The Mission of the Vice-President, Design & Product Development at Cozey

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Vice President of Design & Product Development to lead the next chapter of Cozey’s innovation. Reporting to Frédéric Aubé, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, this leader will own the end-to-end design and product development process, ensuring Cozey continues to deliver thoughtfully designed, high-quality, and customer-loved products.

The VP will shape the product roadmap, build and lead a world-class design team, and drive a culture of creativity, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This is a rare opportunity to help define the future of furniture design and make Cozey a global leader in accessible, design-driven home solutions.

This position is based in Montreal, with relocation support available.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and lead a best-in-class product development and design organization, fostering creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
• Maintain deep expertise in the furniture category, consumer behavior, and design trends to ensure Cozey remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Drive all aspects of product development, ensuring products meet Cozey’s standards for innovation, quality, and customer value.
• Establish efficient systems and processes to reduce time-to-market while maintaining design integrity and accuracy.
• Optimize product cost and complexity through thoughtful SKU standardization and operational efficiency.
• Champion innovation to deliver on-trend, smart, and affordable furniture that balances emotional appeal with everyday functionality.
• Embed a culture of continuous improvement through rigorous product testing, iteration, and feedback loops to ensure every product meets performance, durability, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Develop and execute a clear patent and IP strategy that protects Cozey’s designs and strengthens its competitive edge.
• Define and track key product metrics related to quality, customer satisfaction, and market performance.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across marketing, operations, supply chain, and customer experience to align on product priorities.

We’d Love to Hear from You If You Have

• 12–15+ years of leadership in product design, development, or innovation, ideally in premium, design-driven consumer or furniture brands.
• Proven experience building and scaling world-class product development and design teams.
• A track record of bringing innovative, customer-loved products to market.
• Strong operational acumen in managing cost, complexity, and standardization without compromising design quality.
• Experience leading cross-functional collaboration between design, operations, supply chain, and marketing.
• A deep understanding of design processes, material innovation, and manufacturing principles.
• Demonstrated success in IP strategy, patent development, and competitive product positioning.
• An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• A passion for design, innovation, and building the next great furniture brand.
