About This Position
The Director of Artificial Intelligence will focus on strategically integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools and affiliate marketing programs into The Washington Times newsroom, digital and business operations. The Director of AI will work with the marketing, editorial, and video teams to enhance efficiency, strengthen SEO performance, expand monetization opportunities, and ensure that AI is implemented ethically and transparently across all content workflows. The Director of AI, will guide and implement the responsible adoption of AI tools to streamline newsroom production, enhance content quality, and maintain journalistic standards while updating the existing newsroom AI policy.
The goal is to have an updated, forward-looking newsroom AI policy with clearly defined AI-assisted editorial workflows and tools.The Director of AI will facilitate close collaboration with the advertising, revenue and marketing departments to ensure maximum revenue-generating opportunities. TheDirector of AI will design, launch and oversee affiliate marketing initiatives, including partnerships with major vendors and affiliate networks to create and oversee a fully functional affiliate marketing infrastructure.The Director of AI will have a proven track record of leading and executing AI technologies from conception to production. He/she must possess outstanding news judgment, an unwavering commitment to professional journalism ethics, and a strategic vision to align content with The Washington Times' audience to ensure the best possible opportunity for revenue growth. The successful candidate will provide support to the president and executive editor, and work to ensure the newsroom produces news content that increases reader engagement, fulfills corporate strategy and can be monetized.
