About the position:
The Electrician – Airfield provides services for the airfield, terminal, facilities, properties, and equipment at Blue Grass Airport. The Electrician – Airfield’s focus is on the airport’s airfield but also works with the Electrician – Facilities when needed. The Electricians are part of a maintenance department focused on working together as a team to achieve common and individual goals. We are looking for candidates with a “can do – will do” positive attitude and a team player approach.The Airfield Electrician’s airfield focus includes airfield lighting and NAVAIDS, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of existing airfield lighting circuits, roadway and parking lot lighting circuits, power distribution systems, transformers, airfield control systems, automatic security gate systems, and all secondary branch circuit wiring. The Airfield Electrician is responsible for maintaining runway, taxiway, beacons, weather monitoring systems, illuminated signs, and other special airport lighting systems in accordance with codes, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards, and other requirements.
Candidates must have a high school or trade school degree, two to five years journeyman-level electrical experience, and a current Journeyman Electrician License issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
This is a full-time, 40 hour work week position, working ten hour shifts on-site. The schedule is 11am - 9:30pm Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday (days of the week rotate quarterly). The Electrician - Airfield is eligible for an additional $2.50 per hour when required to work a temporary schedule change. In addition, there is compensation for additional travel for call ins, a safety footwear allowance, uniforms and winter gear provided.
