About This Position
Description:
As a Kitchen Team Member in our commercial production kitchen, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of our culinary production processes. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization, following recipes accurately, and effectively managing inventory to support production needs.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met at all times in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Organize and maintain inventory of food supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for production needs while minimizing waste.
- Follow established procedures for receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients and products.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to maintain consistency and minimize food costs.
- Assist in the development and testing of new recipes and production processes as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely production of menu items.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any maintenance or repair needs to management.
- Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling and storage of food products.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced production environment.
Personal Requirements:
- Be an ambassador for the company and maintain professionalism in and outside of work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality food products.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating portion sizes.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to undergo training and follow company policies and procedures.
- Texas Food handler certification.
Working Conditions:
- A typical work week for this position is 40-45 hours. Hours vary based on needs of the market and the department.
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting objects up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment is possible.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers may be required.
