NeoGenomics is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who wants to learn to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an hybrid position to work in either Fort Myers, FL or Durham, NC

Position Summary:
As a Senior Systems Engineer you are responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual also provides and supports a diverse group in all aspects of the business for both internal and external entities. This individual also ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational core values.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Microsoft AD Domains – OU’s, connectivity between AD sites, group policy creation and management and health of the AD Domain.
- Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
- Maintain system backups and provide daily reports to management.
- Maintain the health, performance, security, and availability of our server Environment(s). Included in these duties are maintaining storage quotas, antivirus, and anti-spam measures of the email messaging system.
- Capacity Planning – provide daily monitoring of all servers and storage, and production equipment to ensure these devices are optimally tuned and within normal operating ranges. Take proactive measures to mitigate out of range thresholds.
- Work with IT Security to deploy endpoint protection to all servers and workstations
- Maintain patch deployment for all servers and provide a patch management solution for workstations and laptops.
- Responsible for maintaining operational best practice for system/application upgrades and rollouts to include researching, project planning, validating, implementing, and documenting system changes.
- Responsible for embracing project management best practices guidelines to include the following: project planning, scope creation, RFP/vendor selection, and defining milestones/deliverable dates.
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field is preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience supporting and managing a large geographically dispersed IT infrastructure.
- Previously employment held as a Systems Engineer or Senior Systems Administrator or equivalent position is required.
- Previous team lead experience and/or the ability to lead junior level team members preferred.
- Microsoft certifications are desired but not required.
- Enterprise Storage experience or certification is required.
- Medical Laboratory experience desired.
- Industry recognized technical certification(s) – MCSE/MCSA/MCITP and/or CCNA preferred
- Requires expert knowledge of Windows server and desktop products.
- Requires ability to administer a large scale, multi-domain, multi-site AD infrastructure.
- Experience with Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration and Azure Portal administration
- Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
- Proficient with AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, DFS Name Space/Replication, and High Availability using Microsoft Cluster Technology.
- Extensive knowledge with backup technologies required. Preferably Rubrik, Dell EMC Data Domain or Backup Exec.
- Strong hands on experience with back office hardware including the following areas is desired: Cisco UCS, DELL, HP, IBM Server Hardware, HP/Cisco Networking products, Windows Server 2003/2008 R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, Cisco Firewalls, Citrix XenApp, High Availability system design and implementation using Microsoft Clustering technologies.
- Extensive experience with enterprise level storage solutions like NetApp, Dell EMC Isilon or Dell EMC Compellent
- Experience with virtualization technologies – VMWare ESX or Hyper-V.
