Job Summary:
The IT Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud systems, security tools, and end-user technology. This hybrid role blends responsibilities from both system administration and IT operations, providing advanced technical support while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical systems.
Safety

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers and virtual machines (Windows Server / Hyper-V).
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access policies, dynamic groups, and associated identity services
- Perform system backups, recovery, patching, and updates.
- Monitor systems and respond to alerts from RMM and security tooling.
- Manage switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and cabling.
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth, and uptime.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and maintain network security.
- Assist with network redesign, upgrades, and configuration improvements.
- Provide technical support for user issues.
- Support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and applications.
- Assist with new device setup, hardware lifecycle management, and configuration.
- Support onboarding/offboarding for accounts, permissions, and system access.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Autopilot.
- Manage device compliance policies, configuration profiles, Windows Update rings, and endpoint protection.
- Maintain cloud security groups, licenses, shared resources, and backups.
- Support cloud-based integrations, storage, and email systems.
- Implement and monitor security policies, endpoint protection, MFA, Conditional Access, and system hardening.
- Conduct periodic access audits and compliance checks.
- Respond to system alerts, logs, and potential security issues.
- Maintain documentation for systems, networks, configurations, and procedures.
- Assist with IT planning, infrastructure improvement projects, and migrations.
- Recommend process improvements and automation.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- 3+ Years of IT Systems or network administration experience
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
- Experience with endpoint management concepts (Intune, Autopilot, device compliance, application deployment).
- Experience with networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switches).
- Familiarity with virtualization (Hyper-V).
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash) and comfort working with APIs and automation tooling is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability.
Physical Requirements and Environmental
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Ability to lift stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, or reach equipment.
- Ability to climb short ladders or step stools.
- Visual acuity for hardware inspection and reading system data.
- Ability to travel to offsite, local locations
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work
- Office, server room and occasional remote work
- May participate in an on-call rotation
