Overview

This position is for a Supervisor of Engineering Services reporting to the Manager of Engineering - Material Services.

This individual will manage an hourly and salaried workforce responsible for catalog maintenance of the Common Parts Catalog (CPC). This includes EBPN creation, maintenance, and their integration with other EB systems such as Teamcenter, MRPII and Oracle (ERP), and external entities such as BAE Systems, Newport News or other General Dynamics Business Units. The candidate will be responsible for VREQ metrics, prioritization, VREQ process improvement efforts, D330 support questions, VIR & ER resolution and approval, purchase requisition support (Z000 Queue), and integration support of EBPN characteristics to Oracle and NNS. The individual will be expected to work collaboratively with all supply chain organizations, EB Design and Engineering, as well as Supplier Quality regarding efforts related to the invoked standard clauses and related documents for EBPN’s. The candidate will also be responsible for approving any technical supplements for open purchase orders, requisitions and NNS orders.

Additionally, the individual will need to work closely with all D447 groups related to EBPN resolution, including the DE (Digital Enterprise) team, EB Specification Histories Group and D447 Sourcing.

Must be able to develop and execute plans for training newer employees, be familiar with various audit processes and be able to run reports in legacy systems (specifically, where used reports). The ability to successfully work with organizations outside of the department is required.

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with a strong project management and systems management background.
  • Strong problem solving capabilities and interpersonal skills are required as well as demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to interface with various levels of management, organizations, union membership and external entities.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years of related experience within a material services environment related to systems management of common parts catalog where ensuring task/project completion in satisfactory manner
  • 1+ years of supervisor experience of direct reports
  • Working knowledge of hourly/contract employee's practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read/interpret technical manuals, disclosures and drawings
  • Ability to write and maintain procedures

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Material/Engineering/Planning/Supply Chain
  • Working knowledge and experience with NX/Teamcenter and CDM/CATIA, SPARs, ELCADD and MRPII
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for cost and schedule performance
