A day in the life...

As a Room Service Attendant, you will be providing Headlands Coastal Lodge guests, the extraordinary coastal experience of being able to enjoy Meridian’s food and drinks in the comfort of their rooms or cottages. Directly interacting with customers to help create memorable experiences.

As a Bar Back, you will play a key supporting role in ensuring the smooth operation of the bar area. You will work alongside bartenders to maintain a clean and organized bar, assist with stocking, and help provide exceptional service to our guests. Working with bartenders and the management team to help meet the needs of all our guests.

Key Accountabilities:

Bar Back:

  • Assist bartenders in the preparation and delivery of drinks to guests
  • Stock and maintain bar supplies, including glasses, garnishes, bottles, and other bar essentials.
  • Keep the bar area clean and organized, ensuring all workspaces are tidy and stocked.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to the Bar Manager.
  • Clean and sanitize bar equipment, utensils, and glassware.
  • Remove empty glasses and bottles from the bar area and ensure they are properly disposed of.
  • Assist in restocking beer taps and kegs when necessary.
  • Provide excellent hospitality service by helping guests with their needs and supporting bartenders during busy periods.
  • Help maintain a positive, energetic, and engaging environment for customers.
  • Ensure that the bar area complies with all health and safety regulations.
  • Support in opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down the bar.

Room Service Attendant

  • Receive food and beverage orders while making recommendations from knowledge of the Meridian menu.
  • Participates in the assembly of trays to meet guests’ requests. Deliver food and beverage orders.
  • Delivers trays to guest rooms in a timely manner.
  • Properly handle billing, gratuities, and other financial matters related to each guest.
  • Maintain assigned and specific side work to ensure dining room cleanliness.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Operate the POS for order placement and receipt of payment.
  • Perform all opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Ensure meeting all compliance with Headlands and Meridian Policies, and the Health Department and OLCC Laws.
  • Perform other duties as requested and instructed by the restaurant manager
  • Work and act as a team player in all interactions with the Headland's Employees.
Requirements:

You own this if you have…

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have prior food service experience, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
  • Obtain a Food Handler’s Card and O.L.C.C. Permit.
  • Must have professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
  • Speak, read, write, and understand the primary language of the work location.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, and lift to 50 pounds.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships with team members and others.
