Position Overview

Position: Calibration Specialist
Location: Regional / Western United States (as needed)

Rust Automation & Controls is seeking a highly skilled Calibration Specialist to support complex calibration, commissioning, and service activities. This role serves as a technical resource across administrative systems, field execution, customer support, and quality compliance—ensuring efficient job preparation, execution, and closeout for large and complex calibration projects.

  • Improve job readiness, documentation quality, and resource utilization
  • Provide advanced technical and subject matter expertise to customers and field teams
  • Uphold calibration standards and quality systems for Rust Service
Role & Responsibilities

Calibration Support Specialist will support regional service teams, customers, and internal stakeholders across administrative systems, field execution, technical support, and quality compliance.

Core Responsibilities
  • Populate and maintain work order databases, Salesforce processes, and Group Knowledge Base articles
  • Support work order line items by defining parameters, ranges, MPEs, and calibration set points, and review final calibration certificates for accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate with customers at job initiation and closeout while managing documentation workflows, including blue folder administration and final document archival
  • Create and maintain equipment schedules and prescribed calibration intervals for customer assets
  • Prepare and support commissioning, troubleshooting, and large calibration jobs through site planning, audits, walk-downs, and SME field support as needed
  • Perform and support internal and external technical training initiatives and technician mentorship
  • Manage, allocate, and coordinate technicians, site supplies, tools, and equipment while maintaining visibility of tool locations
  • Provide high-level customer support as an SME and assist during complex or critical service situations
  • Work directly with Endress+Hauser’s calibration team to follow protocols, support ISO/IEC 17025 audits, and continuously improve calibration standards
Qualifications & Profile
  • Strong technical background in instrumentation, calibration, commissioning, or industrial services
  • Experience supporting complex service or calibration projects preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as needed
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and solution-oriented
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, managers, and manufacturing partners
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Proficiency with CRM/ERP and documentation systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite)
