The Staff Accountant supports the organization’s financial operations with primary responsibility for general accounting functions, financial reporting support, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives. This role also provides cross-functional support to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as needed.
The Staff accountant will be responsible for various reporting and data collection tasks including assisting with the annual financial audit, providing data to the company CPA firm for tax returns, and government census reporting.
The position is also responsible for entering approved supplier and customer changes in the Epicor ERP, and assisting with generating payment files for approval in alignment with Chandler Separation of duties and internal controls.
Core Responsibilities – General Accounting (Primary Focus)
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and variance analysis.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP system.
- Support annual financial audits and coordinate requested documentation with external auditors.
- Assist with government reporting requirements, including census filings, surveys, and tax-related reporting.
- Review and validate employee expense reporting for accuracy, proper coding, and policy compliance.
- Participate in continuous improvement and automation initiatives to enhance financial processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Support compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
- Contribute to special projects, system implementations, and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
Accounts Receivable Support (Secondary)
- Assist in researching and resolving account discrepancies in collaboration with customers and internal departments.
- Support collection activities and provide updates on outstanding balances as needed.
- Prepare or assist with AR aging reports and related analysis.
- Maintain accurate customer account records.
Accounts Payable Support (Secondary)
- Assist with invoice review, discrepancy resolution, and vendor statement reconciliations.
- Support payment processing activities (checks, ACH, wires) as needed.
- Assist with A/P accruals during month-end close.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts within the AP function.
Required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of accounting experience in AP, AR, or general accounting
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, debits, and credits
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations preferred
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee)

Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors related to the specific position. These may include skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
