Metergy office location is in Markham but will be moving to North York in Fall 2026!


Position Summary

As the Team Lead, you will play a key role in overseeing the daytoday operations of the Settlements team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of settlement activities. In this role, you will provide leadership, coaching, and operational guidance to team members while driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.

You will act as a key point of escalation, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, support strategic initiatives, and maintain strong operational controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to thrive in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment with strong attention to detail and good judgment. They will demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and problemsolving abilities, along with a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and effective risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Support: Lead, coach, and support settlement analysts, and assign daily tasks and ensure deadlines and service levels are met.
  • Settlements Operations: Oversee settlement processing, reconciliations, and exception handling, review and approve settlement transactions, and keep procedures and documentation up to date.
  • Risk & Controls: Identify and address operational risks, resolve discrepancies and settlement issue, support audits, reviews, and control testing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Billing, Finance, Revenue Assurance, Sales and Customer Success to support smooth operations.
  • Process Improvement & Analytics: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate settlement workflows, reconciliations, and reporting while contributing to process standardization and knowledge continuity.
Requirements
  • Postsecondary education in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related fields.
  • Two (2) – Five (5) years' experience in settlements or financial operations, ideally with exposure to utilities, energy markets, or other regulated industries.
  • Prior leadership, coaching, or mentorship experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of settlement workflows and controls.
  • Good communication, analytical, and organizational skills; high attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with data analytics/visualization (e.g., VBA, Power BI, Power Query); comfort working with large datasets and improving data quality.
