This leadership role is responsible for driving the strategy, design, and development of offensive security capabilities within a cutting-edge cybersecurity platform. The Director will oversee multiple engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of scalable, autonomous offensive tools that enable organizations to proactively detect and remediate vulnerabilities. This position combines deep technical expertise with product and organizational leadership, influencing the roadmap and operational execution of offensive testing features. The Director will mentor and scale teams, define technical direction, and collaborate cross-functionally to align engineering initiatives with business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to innovate in a fast-paced, remote-first environment while shaping the next generation of cybersecurity products and practices.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and scale offensive engineering teams responsible for exploit development, attack automation, and offensive content within the platform.
  • Define and execute technical strategy for offensive capabilities, ensuring scalability, reliability, and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with product, platform, and security teams to translate research into production-ready features.
  • Mentor engineering leads, establish best practices, and foster a culture of technical excellence and creativity.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of autonomous offensive tools that support diverse environments and large-scale operations.
  • Align offensive engineering initiatives with business priorities, ensuring measurable impact on customer outcomes.
  • Stay hands-on as needed to guide architecture, evaluate complex exploits, and maintain technical rigor.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams in offensive security or cybersecurity product development, ideally in growth-stage or startup environments.
  • Deep technical expertise in software development, system architecture, and offensive security domains such as exploit development, vulnerability research, or red teaming.
  • Track record of taking offensive capabilities or SaaS products from concept to production.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, automation pipelines, and large-scale SaaS platforms.
  • Product-oriented mindset with the ability to balance technical quality, customer impact, and speed to market.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, including managing managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in offensive security tooling (e.g., Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Sliver), programming languages (Python, Go, C++, C#), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and observability practices.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Bonus: Offensive security certifications (OSCP, OSEP, OSED, GPEN) or experience mentoring teams in offensive tradecraft.
