Heavy Equipment Operator at Cowboy's BIG IRON Services – Edgewood, New Mexico

Job Overview:

• Company: Cowboys Big Iron Services, LLC.
• Salary/Pay Rate: $23 to $27 per hour (Based on experience) plus Year-End Bonus.
• Location: Edgewood, NM (Onsite).
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
• Schedule: Monday Friday, Weekends, and Overtime.
• Project Scope: Civil Dirt Work, Asphalt Paving, and Site Development.
• Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Valid CDL and Driver's License.

The Opportunity: You will join a high-intensity field team where your skill behind the controls directly shapes the landscape of New Mexico. This is not a role for those who want to hide in a cab; we need versatile operators who are "cowboys" at heart and ready to master any piece of iron in the fleet. You will have the chance to showcase elite technical precision on high-stakes commercial and government projects.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Execute precision grading and excavation tasks to meet exact project specifications and production goals.
• Operate a wide range of heavy machinery including excavators, finish blades, rollers, and front-end loaders.
• Coordinate with the paving side of the business to haul equipment and asphalt when production demands shift.
• Monitor job-site safety and traffic control in conjunction with the Foreman to prevent hazards.
• Maintain the integrity of your machinery through daily inspections, cleaning, and proactive reporting of malfunctions.
• Communicate constantly with truck drivers and ground laborers to ensure synchronized movement on active sites.
• Lead by example as a safety ambassador, strictly adhering to OSHA 10/30 standards and company policies.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional heavy equipment operation experience.
• Valid CDL and Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Proven proficiency in asphalt paving and commercial dirt work operations.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and maintain high stamina for long field shifts.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Elite-level experience as a Finish Blade Man or Excavator Operator.
• Strong background in reading grade stakes and performing complex site leveling.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or "Crew Lead" capacity within civil construction.
