Job Overview:

Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous observation of cardiac rhythm in Central Monitoring Station for patients placed on telemetry monitor during their hospital stay. The Telemetry Technician works cooperatively with Registered Nurses, notifying Nurse of any abnormalities and changes in patient heart waveforms. Technician assists new employees in the policy and procedures of the department. Demonstrate strong customer service, positive attitude, the ability to plan, organize, multi-task. Supports the philosophy, objectives, mission and vision of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Night shift Technician perform STAT Electrocardiograms.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Telemetry and/or successful completion of a Cardiac Dysrhythmia Course.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
  • Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred certification — Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) Ability to perform EKGs.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per diem
  • Days

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to perform EKG’s.
  • Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong customer service, a positive attitude, the ability to plan, organize, multitask.
  • Assist in training and orientation of new staff members.
  • Follow all company and departmental policies and procedures.
