About This Position

Thrive at Green Island is seeking a dedicated and reliable **Cook*
* to join our Dining Services team! In this role, you will help create a warm, enjoyable dining experience for our residents by preparing high‑quality meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
**Position Overview**
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving appetizing, nutritious meals in accordance with established recipes, menus, and regulatory guidelines. This role works under the guidance of the Dining Service Manager and plays a key part in supporting the wellbeing and satisfaction of our residents.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Prepare and serve meals that are delicious, visually appealing, and in line with approved recipes.
* Review menus ahead of time to ensure accurate food preparation.
* Maintain top-tier standards of sanitation, hygiene, and food safety.
* Follow all Infection Control and Universal Precaution procedures.
* Wear required protective equipment when handling waste or bodily fluids.
* Complete necessary forms, logs, and documentation for dietary procedures.
* Report accidents, incidents, or equipment issues immediately.
* Participate in ongoing training and educational programs.
* Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and community business.
* Follow all community policies, procedures, and supervisor instructions.
* Notify supervisor of absences or tardiness per handbook guidelines.
* Create a warm, positive dining atmosphere for residents.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
* Ability to follow recipes and standard food safety practices.
* Strong attention to detail and timely meal preparation.
* Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
* Weekend availability required.
* Prior experience in food service or senior living dining is a plus.
