DESCRIPTION
Our maintenance supervisor is a professional who directs and organizes services for equipment and facilities, maintaining safe production environments, and tools critical to the organization. The responsibilities of maintenance supervisors typically include planning and directing tasks for a particular shift as well as overseeing that work is completed in a timely and safe manner. Maintenance supervisors must make sure that all Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) and other pertinent agency rules or government regulations are met. They must lead and motivate their team and delegate tasks. They oversee, direct, and lead the work of maintenance technicians to ensure that the company’s goals are met, and applicable laws and regulations are followed.
Requirements:RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and organizes daily tasks and assignments for all technicians prior to each shift.
- Develops and manages weekly and monthly preventive maintenance schedules.
- Supervises the maintenance team and external contractors to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
- Responds promptly to maintenance requests and ensures resolution.
- Monitors inventory levels of materials, equipment, tools, and supplies; initiates orders for replacements as needed.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Leads regular safety inspections at worksites to identify and mitigate risks.
- Performs hands-on maintenance work when required to support team operations.
- Conducts periodic inspections of facilities and building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to identify issues and required maintenance.
- Escalates complex issues to management and provides actionable recommendations.
- Ensures team compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Enforces adherence to OSHA safety regulations and internal quality standards.
- Manages and maintains preventive maintenance tasks to support seamless day-to-day operations.
- Contributes to the development of the maintenance budget and ensures adherence to financial guidelines.
- Participates in the recruitment and interview process for potential maintenance team members.
- Oversees, motivates, and evaluates maintenance staff, including managing training and professional development initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3 years of maintenance experience is required and 1 year management experience is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, degree or diploma from a vocational school preferred.
- Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
- OSHA 30-hour training is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively with a positive and results-driven approach.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Physical Demands
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects,
Work Environment:The role involves utilizing standard office equipment, such as computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, telephones, and other essential digital tools required for daily tasks.Mixed Indoor and Outdoor Environment: This position is primarily outdoors but may require occasional indoor work between locations for administrative tasks. Indoor duties may involve using computers and standard office equipment. Ability to work outdoors in fluctuating weather conditions, including exposure to sunlight, rain, wind, and temperature changes (hot, cold, rainy, windy). Tasks often involve manual labor or physical effort.SKILLS
- Excellent problem-solving and team-building capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance best practices and building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in managing maintenance personnel.
- Experience in recruiting, supervising, and training maintenance technicians.
- Solid understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and performance management.
- Outstanding planning and leadership abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Proficient in computer systems and maintenance software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Spanish and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis in Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
