Job Title: Job Developer – Community Resources for Employment and Development (CRED NYC)Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $30.22–$32.97 per hour
Location: Jamaica, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, primarily 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Some evening hours required (5:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m., 1–2 times per week as needed). Flexibility required based on program needs.
Hours: 35 hours per week

About the RoleAre you passionate about empowering young adults and creating meaningful career pathways?
The CRED Job Developer supports out-of-school, unemployed, and underemployed young adults ages 18–40 by connecting them to career opportunities in the culinary and technology sectors. Participants complete a 14-week training program before being placed in structured 10-week internships, with the goal of securing permanent employment.
The Job Developer builds and maintains strong relationships with participants, employers, and community stakeholders to ensure successful internship placements and long-term job outcomes.
At least 75% of program participants must reside in zip codes disproportionately impacted by high rates of gun violence. The CRED initiative approaches gun violence as a public health crisis by combining short-term workforce opportunities with long-term community-based prevention strategies. A central component of this work is increasing access to career pathways and employment readiness for disconnected young adults.
Key ResponsibilitiesParticipant Intake & Assessment- Conduct comprehensive intake meetings to assess eligibility, career interests, skills, and employment barriers
- Collect and maintain required documentation (ID, work authorization, resumes, certifications)
- Ensure participant files remain accurate and compliant
- Develop customized job search and career development plans
- Build strong, supportive relationships with participants
- Provide individualized guidance to address employment challenges
- Lead workshops on resume development, interview skills, workplace professionalism, and job retention
- Prepare participants for successful internship and employment placement
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local employers and industry partners
- Focus on culinary and technology sectors
- Secure internships, employment opportunities, and mentorship pathways
- Coordinate structured 10-week internship placements
- Organize job fairs and networking events
- Provide follow-up services and career counseling
- Maintain employer communication to support job retention and advancement
- Bachelor’s Degree (Human Resources, Social Work, Business, Marketing preferred)
- 1–3 years of job development experience with young adults (ages 18–30)
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools (e.g., Salesforce)
- Bilingual skills
- Experience in employer engagement and job development
