Position Summary:
An ACH AAP (Accredited ACH Professional) job involves managing and processing Automated Clearing House (ACH) electronic payments, ensuring strict compliance with NACHA rules, BSA/AML regulations, and minimizing payment fraud risk, requiring deep knowledge of payment systems, file processing, exception handling, and customer support for digital banking services like wire transfers and remote deposit capture, all crucial for financial institutions and corporations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Transaction Processing: Managing daily incoming/outgoing ACH files, ensuring successful settlement, and handling exceptions, returns, and reversals.
• Compliance & Risk: Ensuring adherence to Nacha Operating Rules, federal laws (BSA, AML, OFAC), and internal policies; submitting rule violations and assisting with audits.
• Reconciliation: Balancing ACH files, performing reconciliations, and investigating discrepancies.
• Customer/Internal Support: Assisting members, customers, and internal teams (like Compliance, IT) with ACH issues and questions.
• Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing ways to improve ACH processes and documentation.
• System Management: Using various systems for ACH, wires, and online banking, and potentially managing other digital banking services.
• Maintain and Monitor the Bank's ACH Risk system (Q2-PIQs)
Key Skills & Knowledge Needed
• NACHA Rules: Deep understanding of SEC Codes, Return Reason Codes, timeframes, etc..
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong grasp of BSA, AML, and OFAC.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with banking software and payment systems.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex issues.
• Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy for balancing and reconciliation.
Qualifications
• AAP Certification - Awarded by Nacha (National Automated Clearing House Association).
- Requires passing a challenging exam and earning continuing education credits.
• Experience with the Q2 PIQs monitoring system helpful, but not required
