Reports to- Principle Engineering Manager

Location- Plano, TX

Summary of position-

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II to contribute to the development of our private aviation platform. This role involves building and maintaining our platform and APIs to support scalable and high-performing web and React Native applications, as well as cultivating our growing array of sophisticated AI models and tools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities-

  • Develop and maintain platform APIs and web solutions
  • Deliver high quality, tested code that is scalable, performant, and production-worthy
  • Be a natural communicator; able to participate effectively in fluid discussions of a highly technical nature without gaps in basic understanding
  • Contribute to ongoing technical designs and matters affecting architecture
  • Be willing to learn new tech and use targeted experimentation to find optimal solutions
  • Be a code steward and help to evangelize quality processes
  • Work toward understanding the big picture, to inform coding and refactoring choices
  • Document complex logic where needed
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize code for performance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions

Preferred Skills-

  • Expert debugger; know how to use sophisticated tools to minimize detective work
  • Expert async developer; ability to think naturally in terms of threads and channels so as to optimize their strengths
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services
  • Skilled documenter using relevant UML conventions
  • Familiarity with React Native, able to test and make minor changes if needed
  • Academic or work-related experience in algorithm theory
  • Material work experience involving machine learning and artificial intelligence

Education & Experience-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-6 years of professional experience in full stack software development, including a minimum of 1 year using Django and a minimum of 1 year in any common compiled language (C#, Java, etc)
  • LEPP stack; solid knowledge of SQL and working knowledge of linux
  • Prior experience working in startups or fast-paced cross-functional teams, preferred.
  • Familiarity with private aviation, logistics, or travel tech platforms, preferred.

Schedule & Travel-

  • Standard business hours are expected in this role.
  • Ability to travel as required up to 10%

Miscellaneous-

  • FLSA Status- Full time exempt
  • Lifting requirements- Up to 20lbs
