Project Controller
Regular Full-Time Vancouver, BC; Whitehorse, YT; Saskatoon, SK; Remote
As a Project Accountant I (Project Controller), you will be responsible for working within a project team to support the development, maintenance and administration of project set-ups, cash flow, forecasts, invoices and reports.
Responsibilities- Support the project team on the development, maintenance and administration of project set ups, project updates, cash flow, forecasts, invoices and reports.
- Assists the Project Manager by contributing to the development of proposed working schedules for estimating which sufficiently illustrate the sequence of work activities and contract time.
- Assist with monitoring all actual cost expenditures relative to project budgets
- Suggests methods to improve project plan and mitigate schedule slippage. Identifies trends, areas of concerns and makes recommendations for corrective actions.
- Create, maintain and administrate cost forecasting/reporting to ensure accuracy and visibility of project budgets to project scope/objectives.
- Develop strong working relationships with Finance, Operations, Project Managers, and clients to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
- Generate invoices for assigned projects according to the invoicing schedule.
- Prepare status reports, presentations and related project documentation.
- Prepare any other project financial analysis as required.
- Assess and document trends and risks of the project related to cost.
- Complete other projects, reporting and tasks as assigned
- Support the Project Manager with document management.
- All other related duties as required.
- Education:
- College or technical diploma in business administration or accounting.
- Experience
- 3+ years of project administration experience (cost reporting).
- Previous experience working in an environmental consulting or EPC firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds
Site travel may be required
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer
