Job description:
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Support residents in participating in recreational activities and community outings
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Respect and uphold the rights of residents, ensuring their privacy and dignity
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of resident information
Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and ability to advocate for individuals' needs
- Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed
- Familiarity with first aid and basic medical procedures
- Experience in behavior management techniques is a plus
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive residents to appointments or activities
