Position Overview:

The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction throughout the event. They manage a team of servers, bartenders and other event staff, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. The Banquet Captain works closely with the event set-up team, kitchen, and other departments to deliver exceptional experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise event staff during events to ensure proper service, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and guests, handling any requests or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the event, addressing any issues or complaints swiftly and effectively.
Ensure that food and beverages are served in a timely manner, in accordance with the client's specifications and event schedule.
Direct and supervise the banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
Oversee inventory control, ensuring that all necessary supplies (e.g., table settings, linens, glassware) are available and in good condition.
Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere among team members, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Inspect event spaces before, during, and after events to ensure cleanliness, proper setup, and adherence to client specifications.
Assist in the preparation and submission of event reports, including feedback and any challenges faced during the event.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Previous experience in hospitality or event services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, management or leadership role
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with grace.
Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, event management software).

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
