About This Position

The Operation Manager will have a broad range of responsibilities covering all areas of operations and production. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating production floor activities, ensuring that customer expectations, quality objectives, productivity, and cost savings goals are met while providing a safe work environment for employees. The position will provide direct leadership to Department Supervisors, Team Leads, and support the production employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee all areas of operations, including manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, inventory facilities, and planning for Carlsbad and Tecate plants.
Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the operations team.
Continually reviews manufacturing processes and implement solutions lowering costs and improving productivity, efficiency, labor utilization and quality.
Oversee manufacturing engineering function to develop standard documentation and instructions for manufacturing activities.
Ensures the plant is compliant with all safety regulations, local, and federal regulations.
Develop metrics and ensure proper reporting to track the performance of the manufacturing operation against budget, including revenue projections, backlog action plans, schedule attainment, throughput, labor utilization, efficiency, scrap, and cost containment initiatives.
Participate with and provide direction as necessary to shop floor managers/supervisors in resolving immediate quality, production, scheduling, technical, or personnel issues.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis of all defects and lead the mistake-proofing efforts.
Coordinate plant activities through collaboration with staff to ensure customer expectations are met and align with manufacturing and budget objectives. Resolve production scheduling problems by quickly analyzing information and implementing short-term and long-term corrective actions. Proactively communicates information to peers and works on implementing solutions that satisfy all parties' expectations. Keeps open dialog on improvement activities and key operational targets and objectives.
Ensures the required manpower competence, skill, knowledge, and equipment are needed to achieve the production/demand targets.
Ensure personal and professional development of direct reports. Effectively manage, develop, and motivate direct and indirect reports. Provide effective, constructive, and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster a positive, team atmosphere while establishing responsibilities and accountabilities that are clear and measurable.
Timely communication of goal progress, roadblocks, and solutions to the President.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to all procedures, set-up requirements, and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001.
Active floor presence is required as well as holding regular meetings with employees on all shifts to ensure good communication, teamwork, and cooperation.
Perform other similar and related duties as required.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field
MBA is a plus.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in manufacturing/production.
Minimum 4 years of plant management experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment, including direct supervision of hourly and salaried employees.
MRP(Plex) CRM experience with the Production/Inventory/Quality modules.
Experience working within quality systems.
Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and develop others.
Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of operations, including engineering, logistics, and procurement.
Demonstrated understanding and utilization of lean tools to help facilitate continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. LEAN (Value- Stream mapping) experience, Six- sigma a plus.
