About This Position
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Clinical Operations (VP of Clinical Operations, RN) is responsible for overseeing the clinical functions of the hospice agency, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and clinical efficiency. This executive leadership role requires strategic planning, process optimization, and collaboration with department heads to enhance patient services while maintaining clinical excellence. The VP of Clinical Operations (RN) will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to align clinical strategies with the agency’s mission and long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Frequent travel between branch locations in Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
- Oversee all clinical operations of the hospice agency, ensuring efficiency, quality care delivery, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to enhance workflow, improve patient outcomes, and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission standards, and other hospice regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and support to interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, physicians, social workers, and other clinical staff, fostering collaboration and seamless patient care coordination.
- Monitor and analyze clinical performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action plans.
- Drive clinical excellence by implementing best practices in patient care, staffing models, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to develop and manage budgets related to clinical operations, controlling costs while maintaining high standards of care.
- Lead strategic initiatives to enhance clinical programs, expand patient services, and improve family satisfaction.
- Oversee vendor relationships related to clinical services, contract negotiations, and procurement processes to ensure cost-effective and high-quality care.
- Partner with HR and clinical education teams to ensure optimal staffing, training, and professional development of clinical personnel.
- Identify and implement innovative clinical solutions to improve operational efficiency and support organizational growth.
- Represent the hospice agency at industry conferences, clinical forums, and community events to promote the organization’s mission and values.
This position requires extensive travel. Residency in Kansas City, MO or Kansas City, KS area.
Education/Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- 5+ years of experience hospice strongly preferred
Certifications:
- Current, active RN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification required
Skills:
- Strong leadership, project management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally and lead a growing team.
Transportation:
- Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
- Current driver’s license.
- Extensive travel between branches.
