About the Role:

The Kitchen and Bath Design Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the design team to create functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen and bathroom spaces. This position involves collaborating closely with designers to develop detailed plans, prepare presentations, and manage project documentation to ensure seamless execution from concept to completion. The assistant will engage with clients to understand their needs and preferences, helping to translate these into design solutions that meet both style and budget requirements. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in interior design or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen and bath design principles, including space planning and ergonomics.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a kitchen and bath design environment or related interior design field.
  • Familiarity with product lines, materials, and finishes commonly used in kitchen and bath projects.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to kitchen and bathroom installations.
  • Certification from a recognized design organization such as NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association).
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D rendering software and presentation tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead designers in creating detailed kitchen and bath layouts using design software and manual drafting techniques.
  • Prepare and organize design presentations, including mood boards, material samples, and product specifications for client meetings.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain product information, pricing, and availability to support project planning.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including design revisions, client communications, and order tracking.
  • Support the design team in managing timelines and ensuring all project milestones are met efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather feedback and clarify design preferences under the guidance of senior designers.
  • Conduct research on current design trends, materials, and technologies to assist in innovative design solutions.
