Baseline Contracting, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty / Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Equipment & Fleet Maintenance team in Coplay, PA. This role plays a vital part in supporting our field operations by ensuring that our fleet of heavy equipment and trucks remains safe, reliable, and fully operational.

You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered vehicles and heavy machinery used on major infrastructure projects, including bridges, highways, and large-scale concrete construction. Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Repair or replace engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, and suspension components
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including starters, alternators, lighting, and control modules
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintain accurate service and repair documentation
  • Coordinate with field crews to prioritize and complete equipment repairs efficiently
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed for equipment repairs and modifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Follow all company safety policies and contribute to a strong culture of workplace safety

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working on heavy duty or diesel-powered equipment preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment systems
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy components and working in both shop and field environments
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Technical certifications or formal training are a plus
