Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Sand Blaster to join our manufacturing team. This role involves preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting processes to ensure high-quality finishes on various industrial components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, mechanical systems, and safety protocols. Experience with fabrication, machining, and the use of hand and power tools is highly valued. Duties

• Operate sand blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal, plastic, or other materials for finishing or coating
• Set up and adjust blasting equipment according to project specifications
• Use hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment for surface preparation and finishing tasks
• Handle materials safely using forklift, crane, or other warehouse equipment as needed
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on blasting machinery and related tools
• Follow safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials
• Read and interpret marking specifications
• Has the ability and skill to fine finish delicate parts and perform free-hand finishing work
• Scrapes or a rub parts with a file, a wire brush, or buffing cloth
• Deburr or polishes parts
• Other material preparations as directed by supervisor

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Heavy work, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on a rare basis

Requirements

• Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial sand blasting is REQUIRED
• Knowledge of materials handling including forklift operation and crane usage is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on safety and quality standards
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
