Supv Summit Transport Team

Reports to the Manager. Supervises the transport staff and routine operations for assigned shift, including the productivity of staff and information systems processes. Ensures that all transport activities are performed according to established policies and procedures.

Supervises daily operations to ensure work is performed according to established policies and procedures, and as approved and/or directed by the Manager and/or Director as appropriate by:
- Assigning work and managing the schedules, operations, and work activities of designated staff within the department.
- Assists with ensuring payroll records are accurate and approves, attendance records are accurately maintained and current at all times.
- Identifies necessary positions to hire for and evaluates ongoing hiring needs.
- Assisting with interviewing, orienting and evaluating performance of staff, communicating expectations and recommending corrective action when necessary.
- Identifying ongoing training needs of staff and ensuring that each individual receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the duties performed.
- Organizing and implementing programs for preventive maintenance of equipment and placing work orders for equipment repair.
- Assisting with cost analysis of equipment, leases and rental agreements.
- Implementing new procedures with the approval of the Manager and Director.
- Assists the manager to complete thorough performance reviews for each direct report within established guidelines.
- Ensuring employees perform duties using safe work techniques and procedures in accordance with OSHA, State and Federal regulations and Hospital policies and procedures.
- Investigating and reporting to Manager incidents involving patients, employees, visitors, clients and transporters.
- Maintaining good rapport and cooperative relationships, approaching conflict in a constructive manner, and helping to identify problems, offering solutions, and participating in their resolution.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:
- Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.
Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:
- Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
- Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
- Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
- Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
- The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of an associate's degree. Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrates leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to supervise staff in daily operations and to interact effectively with staff, physicians, patients, visitors and other contacts.
Working Conditions
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous substances, chemicals and other conditions common to a hospital.
Physical Demands
- Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
