Overview
Arts & Science is seeking a talented Department Manager to join the Department of Sociology. This individual will manage departmental operations and staff and oversee administrative support for the department. Provide input and recommendations to advise the Chairperson on departmental policy and planning issues. Administer budgets, coordinate tenure review process, and oversee registration activities.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years years of increasingly responsible administrative experience (e.g., managing administrative services/processes, budgets, and staff) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in higher education or non-profit environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent planning, management, networking, and presentation skills. Ability to negotiate solutions to contain problems and persuade others when some differences of opinion may exist. Knowledge of standard office software.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,783.13 to USD $95,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
