Warehouse Supervisor - Conveyor Belt at SALSON LOGISTICS INC – NEWARK, New Jersey

Job Overview

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of conveyor belt systems, monitoring performance to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on conveyor equipment, identifying potential issues and implementing timely repairs.
• Train and coach Warehouse Associates on best practices, proper equipment handling, and compliance with safety protocols.
• Assist in conveyor belt layout optimization, ensuring efficient space utilization and streamlined workflow.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations, leading safety meetings and enforcing safety procedures.
• Analyze production data and provide insights for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to improve productivity, identify process inefficiencies, and implement corrective measures.
• Prepare and review warehouse reports, including order fulfillment accuracy, productivity metrics, and employee performance evaluations.
• Lead by example, fostering a team-oriented environment with a focus on continuous improvement and high performance.
• Assist in workforce planning, including scheduling shifts and managing labor allocation based on operational needs.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager to support daily operations.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• MUST BE BILINGUAL IN HAITIAN-CREOLE
• 5+ years of experience in conveyor belt operation or a related field, with a proven track record of successful system oversight.
• 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
• Strong understanding of conveyor mechanics and operational best practices, including troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage a diverse team.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and ensure compliance among team members.
• Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software and their interaction with conveyor processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree in industrial technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in conveyor systems operation or maintenance.
• Experience with automation technologies and their integration into conveyor systems.
