Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Interpersonal Skills - Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills -
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom.
Wages/Other:
The Administrative Assistant supports the Presidents Office and the Grant Directors Office. This position includes administrative support, and clerical responsibilities to assist offices in running smoothly and responsively.
Position Responsibilities: 5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned.40.00% -
Financial Administration:
-Prepare requisitions for Assistant to the President, Grant Director, and Chief Communications Officer
-Maintain financial records for accounts and budgets.
-Make purchases
35.00% - Confidential Administrative/Clerical Support:-Under minimal supervision, assist the Assistant to the President & Director of Grants
-Maintain and organize files, including documentation
-Act as Administration building receptionist assisting visitors with campus navigation
-Stock office supplies and maintain office equipment
-Sort and distribute mail
-Proofread reports, minutes, and other documentation
-As requested: schedule meetings, maintain calendar, schedule appointments, take minutes, make travel arrangements and facility reservations.
20.00% - Specific Grant Support:
-Research, including collection of data and statistics for proposals and applications
-Grant program inventory management and confidential payroll monitoring
Expectations: Ability to perform detail oriented work with frequent interruptions and to prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and communications with attention to detail. Ability to meet multiple project deadlines and to provide timely, accurate, and professional support for multiple supervisors. Ability to maintain complete confidentiality at all times.Ability to work independently and to effectively communicate, understand instructions, follow directions, and provide feedback.

- Proficiency in the use of automated office equipment, including computers, related software, and the networking environment.
Education - A high school education or GED. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom.
Wages/Other:
The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.18 to $19.19.
