Accountabilities:

Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact backend projects using Elixir and Phoenix, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Frontend, SRE, and QA teams to deliver robust APIs, integrations, and backend services.
Contribute to architectural decisions and platform improvements while maintaining a strong understanding of both technical and product domains.
Participate actively in code reviews, RFC discussions, and engineering best practices to maintain high-quality standards across the shared codebase.
Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues in production environments hosted on AWS.
Mentor and support other engineers, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Engage in broader engineering initiatives such as hiring processes, support rotations, and cross-team collaborations.

Requirements:

Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer, with strong expertise in Elixir, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software systems.
Solid experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL (or similar).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or equivalent).
Proven ability to design and implement APIs with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous, remote-first environment.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and frontend technologies such as Next.js, React, or Vue/Angular.
