About This Position
Job Title: Afterschool Teacher
Department: Afterschool Division
Reports To: Program Manager
Schedule: Part-time, 5–10 hours per week (Monday–Fiday)
Duration: 10-month Employee
Salary: $24.00/hour

What You’ll Do
As part of our After School Program—sponsored by Kids Hope Alliance in partnership with Duval County Public Schools—you’ll deliver meaningful academic enrichment for students performing below grade level. Your role includes:
- Leading project‑based learning and engaging academic activities.
- Providing tutoring, homework support, and targeted instructional strategies.
- Implementing the UFLI curriculum and aligning lessons with district standards
Work Environment
You’ll work on-site at a school, supporting students in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with frequent movement. Some activities may take place outdoors, and both virtual and in‑person engagement may be required. Flexibility, creativity, and strong supervision skills are key to success in this role.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum two years’ experience working with youth in educational programs.
- Valid teaching certificate (required).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid state-issued ID and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass Level II background screening (local, state, and federal).
- Completion of DCF 45-hour training within the first year of employment.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Must comply with the City of Jacksonville Drug Free Workplace Policy (Directive 0401).
