Executive Director

The Executive Director will lead strategic community engagement initiatives, driving both mission impact and revenue growth across their assigned region. This role blends high-level leadership with hands-on execution, partnering with volunteers, corporate partners, donors, and local stakeholders to create meaningful programs, fundraisers, and outreach campaigns. The Executive Director will cultivate and mentor volunteer leadership boards, manage critical relationships, and ensure that initiatives align with organizational goals. Operating in a remote work environment, this position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to inspire a diverse group of volunteers and staff. The role directly influences regional visibility, community impact, and long-term sustainability.

Accountabilities
  • Lead regional community engagement, building empowered volunteer networks to deliver programs and expand outreach.
  • Develop and implement annual and long-term plans that address mission objectives, revenue targets, special event fundraising, and community awareness.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteer leadership boards and committees to achieve strategic goals and build a culture of philanthropy.
  • Cultivate, steward, and advance relationships with major donors, corporate partners, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee execution of fundraising initiatives, including events, sponsorship solicitation, and program delivery.
  • Ensure operational excellence by monitoring performance, managing budgets, and creating a high-performing market environment where volunteers and staff thrive.
  • Translate marketing, branding, and organizational priorities into actionable initiatives at the community level.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of experience in nonprofit leadership, volunteer management, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in volunteer stewardship, partnership development, and exceeding organizational goals.
  • Experience managing revenue-generating activities, including fundraising events, major gift solicitation, and corporate or foundation support.
  • Strong financial acumen, including planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence diverse stakeholders and navigate complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing teams and volunteer boards.
  • Calm, decisive, and tactful in managing competing priorities and challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, leveraging digital communication and collaboration tools.
