Emergency Medical Technician, Full Time, Day Shift at Adventist Health – San Luis Obispo, California

LOCATION SUMMARY:

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a union-based role represented by the SEIU. Clerical duties of processing MD orders, coordinating response of ancillary departments, Calling PMD's as directed by MD or RN, and handling other phone calls and paperwork, as appropriate. Assist with patient care within EMT scope of practice under the direction of MD or RN.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Goal oriented ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload and demonstrate flexibility. Requires a strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate in a professional manner.

Education and Work Experience:

• EMT 1 Training: Required
• Minimal computer skills: Required

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association: Required
• Current State of California EMT license: Required
