Are you passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals? The Plainfield Park District is looking for dedicated Personal Trainers to join our team! Help clients succeed by designing and leading personalized, effective, and safe fitness programs that inspire and empower them to reach their health and wellness goals.


Starting at $20.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and conduct safe and effective fitness plans for clients to achieve all client related goals.
  • Advocate acquiring new clients and continually selling training packages.
  • Adhere to regulations and guidelines established by your certifying body (i.e. NASM, ACE, ACSM) when conducting training sessions and advising clients.
  • Perform fitness evaluations for clients.
  • Keep accurate record of participants/clients for each session.
  • Ensure proper check in for all clients before sessions begin.
  • Exhibit good problem solving ability, judgment, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Assist new members on proper use of fitness equipment.
  • Maintains an open channel of communication with Supervisor and reports problems or potential problems.
  • Maintain all certifications.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintains knowledge of park district policies, procedures, guidelines and acts in accordance.
  • Performs all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District’s safety program.
  • Performs any additional related tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma required.
  • Certification in personal training from a national institute. (i.e. NASM, ACSM, ACE) and/or degree in the areas of kinesiology, fitness, or related field required.
  • C.P.R. and A.E.D. certified required; ability to certify within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of advanced fitness principles, fitness equipment, office equipment, and computer applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both written and verbal communication.
  • Flexible schedule to meet with clients’ needs.
  • Solid decision-making ability.
  • Must be able to function independently possessing a high degree of self-motivation and self-direction.
