About the Role:

The Assistant Coach Football position plays a critical role in supporting the head coach to develop and implement effective training programs that enhance the athletic performance and personal growth of student-athletes. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• Prior experience coaching football at the high school or collegiate level.
• Strong understanding of football rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within an educational institution or youth sports program.
• Coaching certification from recognized organizations such as the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) or USA Football.
• Knowledge of sports psychology and athlete development principles.
• Experience with video analysis software and performance tracking tools.
• Demonstrated ability to foster academic and athletic balance among student-athletes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions focused on skill development, conditioning, and tactical understanding.
• Provide individualized coaching and mentorship to players to improve their technical abilities, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Analyze game footage and assist in developing game strategies and adjustments during competitions.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and organized, and that safety protocols are strictly followed during all team activities.
• Support recruitment efforts by evaluating potential student-athletes and communicating with prospective players and their families.
• Collaborate with academic staff to monitor players’ academic progress and encourage a balance between athletics and education.
• Attend all games, team meetings, and relevant training sessions to maintain consistent communication and team cohesion.
