We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Team Lead, Plumbing.

Job Summary

The Team Lead, Plumbing, plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating plumbing operations within construction projects to ensure timely and high-quality completion. This position requires managing a team of plumbers, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with safety and building codes. The Team Lead will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other trades to align plumbing work with overall project goals. They are responsible for troubleshooting complex plumbing issues, optimizing workflow, and maintaining efficient resource allocation. Ultimately, the role ensures that all plumbing installations meet design specifications and client expectations while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role managing plumbing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with commercial and residential plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of plumbing from Rough-in, Top out and Finish plumbing.
  • Familiarity with project management software and digital blueprint reading.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and develop junior plumbing staff.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Project Leadership: Supervise, train, and assign tasks to a crew of plumbers and apprentices, ensuring project timelines are met.
  • Technical Execution: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and plumbing codes to install, maintain, and repair complex plumbing systems, including water, gas, and drainage.
  • Site Management: Coordinate with foremen, order materials, and manage inventory to ensure necessary equipment is on-site.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect work for compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.

  • The Team Lead, Plumbing, utilizes technical plumbing expertise daily to guide the team in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems according to project specifications.
  • Leadership and communication skills are essential for coordinating tasks, resolving conflicts, and ensuring clear understanding of project goals among team members.

  • Knowledge of safety standards is critical to enforce compliance and prevent workplace accidents.
  • Additionally, organizational skills support efficient scheduling, resource management, and documentation to keep projects on track and within budget.

Work Environment

  • Fast-Paced: Can be loud, demanding, and involves working around heavy machinery.
  • Outdoor/Indoor: Work may occur both inside warehouses and outside in the yard.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $37.50 - $43.00
