This part-time academic role offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of social work professionals through engaging online teaching and research mentorship. You will contribute to doctoral-level programs by delivering high-quality instruction and supporting students in achieving their academic and professional goals. - Deliver engaging, high-quality online instruction using a learning management system, fostering active participation and meaningful academic discussions.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments, discussions, and research work to support student success and academic growth.
- Mentor doctoral students through research processes, including proposal development, analysis, and final project completion.
- Maintain consistent presence in the virtual classroom, responding to student inquiries and facilitating discussions regularly.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and accurately, ensuring alignment with academic standards and program outcomes.
- Collaborate with academic teams and contribute to continuous improvement of course content and teaching practices.
- Participate in academic residencies or events when applicable, supporting in-person or hybrid learning experiences.
- Stay current with developments in social work research and practice to ensure course content remains relevant and impactful.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DSW) in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the relevant academic level; prior online teaching experience preferred.
- At least 3 years of post-MSW professional practice experience in social work.
- Experience mentoring or serving on dissertation or doctoral committees is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated record of academic or professional contributions (e.g., publications, presentations, or field leadership).
- Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technologies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse adult learners.
- Familiarity with research tools such as SPSS (quantitative) and/or NVivo (qualitative) is a plus.
