Group Swim Instructor at Rush Copley Medical Center – Aurora, Illinois

Essential functions and responsibilities

• Teach swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
• Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
• Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
• Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Ensuring that the swimming pool is clean and tidy.
• It is expected that a swim instructor will also provide coverage as a pool attendant or lifeguard.

Job requirements

• Current Lifeguard Certification Preferred
• Current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/AED Certification Required
• Red Cross Aquatics Safety Training or Lifeguard Certification required within 30 days of hire
• Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules.
