Job Overview:
The Project Manager I is responsible for supporting project management and engineering activities, ensuring successful project execution while gaining valuable hands-on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience looking to kickstart their careers in project engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Planning, coordinating, and managing project activities from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure project goals are met.
- Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality standards, and identify potential risks or issues.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project proposals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and vendors, to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during project execution.
- Manage up to 30-35 projects at a time in varying stages with a portfolio of $ 6 to $ 8 million
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Work with cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned project(s), ensuring clear and transparent communication among all team members and stakeholders.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Proactively identify potential project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
- Handle project issues, changes, and escalations in a timely manner.
- Ensure that project risks are communicated to all stakeholders and that mitigation plans are in place.
Project Delivery and Evaluation:
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet the agreed-upon scope, quality standards, and timelines.
- Monitor and track project progress, adjusting as needed to ensure successful completion.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recommend and implement best practices in project management to achieve higher performance levels
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Management, or related field).
- 0-3 years of experience general work experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
Working Conditions
- Office environment with occasional overtime or weekend work required to meet project deadlines.
- Travel to client sites up to 10%
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Based in the corporate office in Houston, TX
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, flexible work hours between 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
