About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain and Program Management, the Materials Manager oversees Sales & Operations Planning and Materials Operations. This includes demand planning, supply planning, materials storage and job site delivery of materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with Product Management, Boat Managers and Value Stream Managers to ensure adequate visibility to demand while maintaining staffing plans and minimizing inventory.
- Develop and maintain inventory management systems to track raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Convert data into usable metrics and information for Operations and Supply Chain.
- Collaborate with production and sales teams to project material needs and schedule deliveries according to production timelines, ensuring projects are executed on time.
- Manage shipping, receiving, and warehousing to ensure efficient movement and secure storage of materials.
- Monitor department budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as reducing "dead" (obsolete) inventory and optimizing transportation costs.
- Oversee regular cycle counts to ensure ERP/MRP system accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in materials management or supply chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Syteline preferred) and advanced Excel for data analysis.
- APICS (CPIM or CSCP) or ISM (CPSM) certifications are highly preferred.
COMMUNICATION:
Must demonstrate an ability to effectively lead meetings. Must have great verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to listen, talk, and teach.
1st Shift Schedule: Similar to Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 3:30pm, Friday, 6:00am - 10:00am
