About This Position
The Vice President of Marketing will be responsible for leading the overarching marketing strategy and execution at Leadership Connect. This role is central to our mission of providing high-quality people intelligence to the public sector and government affairs landscape. The VP of Marketing will oversee the development of the brand, lead demand generation efforts, and ensure that our market positioning effectively communicates our value proposition to policy and government relations professionals.
The primary impact of this role will be the establishment of a scalable, data-driven marketing engine that supports ARR growth and market expansion. By providing strategic counsel to a senior leadership team and managing our marketing technology infrastructure, the VP of Marketing will ensure that our outreach is both efficient and aligned with our long-term business objectives.Strategic Marketing Oversight: Own and execute the comprehensive marketing strategy, ensuring all initiatives align with the company’s growth targets and revenue goals.
Market Messaging & Positioning: Develop and refine messaging specifically for state and local policy and government affairs professionals, focusing on the utility of our SaaS products in legislative and advocacy environments.
Competitive Analysis & Displacement: Lead initiatives to communicate the advantages of Leadership Connect over existing market alternatives, focusing on high-quality data and product advocacy to encourage competitor displacement.
CRM & MarTech Management: Oversee the integrated HubSpot and Salesforce ecosystem. Advise the organization on tool selection and technical focus areas to ensure data integrity and informed decision-making.
Performance Marketing & KPI Ownership: Build a robust framework of KPIs (CAC, LTV, Pipeline Velocity, MQL-to-SQL conversion) that provides the executive team with a clear line of sight into marketing’s impact on growth.
Digital Campaign Management: Direct the allocation of resources across digital marketing channels, ensuring that campaigns are optimized for reach, engagement, and conversion within our target demographics.
Executive Advisory: Act as a subject matter expert for the senior leadership team, providing clear guidance on marketing best practices and performance metrics to stakeholders with varied marketing backgrounds.
Marketing Leadership: Significant experience in a marketing leadership role within a data-driven B2B SaaS company, with a proven track record of contributing to ARR growth.
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level understanding of CRM systems, specifically the coordination between HubSpot and Salesforce, and the ability to manage a modern marketing technology stack.
Analytical Rigor: A background in building data-driven marketing departments where every dollar spent is tracked against revenue impact and growth benchmarks.
Expert Communicator: The ability to influence and educate a senior leadership team, providing a steady hand and a clear vision for how marketing drives the company’s broader mission.
Digital Campaign Execution: Hands-on experience designing multi-channel digital strategies that move the needle in niche, high-value B2B markets.
Agility: A "player-coach" mentality—This is a building role. You’ll be setting strategy and doing hands-on execution.
(Ideal) Public Sector Expertise: Substantial experience marketing to professionals in state and local government affairs, policy advocacy, or legislative relations.
