Guest Room Attendant - Holiday Inn & Candlewood Suites Roanoke at Kalyan Hospitality – Roanoke, Virginia

The Guest Room Attendant / Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall presentation of guest rooms and public areas across both the Holiday Inn and Candlewood Suites properties. This role ensures that all rooms meet brand standards and guest expectations while supporting operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms daily in accordance with IHG brand standards
• Perform stayover and checkout service, including:
  • Bed making and linen replacement
  • Bathroom cleaning and sanitation
  • Dusting, vacuuming, and floor care
  • Replenishment of guest amenities and supplies
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items promptly

• Meet established room quotas and productivity benchmarks
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and chemical usage guidelines
• Ensure all rooms pass inspection standards (Quore or internal inspection process)
• Maintain accuracy in room status updates (clean, dirty, inspected)

• Provide friendly and professional interaction with guests when encountered
• Respond to guest requests in a timely and courteous manner
• Respect guest privacy and adhere to all “Do Not Disturb” policies

• Properly handle, sort, and transport linens and towels
• Support linen inventory control and organization
• Work efficiently during high-volume periods or linen shortages

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and chemical handling
• Adhere to OSHA and hotel safety guidelines
• Report lost and found items per hotel policy

• Work closely with housekeeping leadership and team members to ensure operational flow
• Assist in deep cleaning projects and special assignments as needed
• Support both Holiday Inn and Candlewood Suites operations as business demands require

• Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs for extended periods
• Frequent pushing/pulling of housekeeping carts
• Repetitive motion tasks such as cleaning and bed making

• Indoor hotel environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals
• May be required to work across both Holiday Inn and Candlewood Suites properties
• Fast-paced environment with daily productivity expectations

• Consistent adherence to room cleanliness and inspection standards
• Timely completion of assigned rooms
